KALINGA COPS DISCOVER P1.4-M WORTH OF MARIJUANA ABANDONED ALONG ROADSIDE
The Lumin-awa cops of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) discovered three abandoned bags containing dried marijuana worth over P1.4 million in Brgy. Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga on August 1, 2024.
According to reports from the Regional Operations Division, the joint personnel of Lubuagan Municipal Police Station (MPS), 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Provincial Intelligence Unit, immediately responded after receiving a call from a concerned citizen about suspicious bags left along the national road in Sitio Balangabang.
Upon inspection, the bags were found to contain approximately 12 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves wrapped in plastic with a Standard Drug Price of PhP1,440,000.00. The marijuana was inventoried on-site in the presence of DOJ representative Mr. Kelvin Wesh B. Owek and Barangay Kagawad Shirley O. Songcuan.
Following the inventory, the seized drugs were transported to the Lubuagan MPS for documentation before being handed over to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit.
The Lubuagan MPS also launched follow-up investigations to identify the individuals who left the said illegal drugs. (PRO-CAR PIO /File Photos)
