Kalinga COPS destroyed P5.2-M Marijuana plants

Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet- (July 30, 2021) – Police officers in Kalinga have discovered two more plantation sites in the mountainous area in Brgy. Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga and have destroyed PHP5.2 million worth of marijuana on July 29.

Citing reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE disclosed that units from Kalinga PPO; RIU-14; RID, and PDEA Kalinga, as part of their continuous marijuana eradication operations, discovered the two plantation sites.

Accordingly, Site 1 has 6,000 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP 1,200,000.00, while Site 2 has  20,000 FGMJP with an SDP of PHP 4,000,000.00.

In total, operatives have uprooted and burned  26,000 FGMJP worth PHP 5,200,000.00 which are being cultivated in a 2,600-square meter land area, operatives are also conducting an intensive investigation to apprehend possible cultivators. (PROCOR-PIO).
