IBP-ISABELA CONDUCTS FREE LEGAL SERVICE AND GIFT GIVING IN DIBULO KATUTUBO COMMUNITY IN DINAPIGUE

DINAPIGUE, Isabela– In line with its commitment to render free legal assistance to Isabeliรฑos, the 26th Board of Officers of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines- Isabela Chapter headed by its president Atty. Lucky M. Damasen, together with Judge Norbert Bong Obedoza of Cordon-Dinapigue Municipal Circuit Trial Court conducted the 3rd Free Legal Aid and Lecture at Edgardo F. Chakiton Memorial Multi-purpose Community Center in Brgy. Digumased on June 17 and a gift giving at Dibulo Katutubo Community in Brgy. Dibulo on June 18, 2023.

On June 17, after the team paid a courtesy call to Mayor Vicente D. Mendoza, they immediately conducted lectures. Judge Obedoza discussed the Alternative Dispute Resolution to which he gave tips, advice, and technics in the proper handling of conflicts and the importance of mediation and conciliation; Atty. Albemar R. Tangonan on the solutions in Land disputes, steps in Land Titling and Ownership; and Atty. Jayson V. Antonio answered the frequently asked questions regarding Civil Registration.

The members of Dinapigue Police Station and the Lupong Tagapamayapa were among the audience who benefited from the said activity.

Before the program was concluded, the residents here and the policemen had the chance to get free legal advice from the lawyers. There were 25 lawyers including Atty. Minerva Taguinod and Atty. Julieta Puday of IBP-Kalinga who were present in the activity.

On June 18 was the gift giving to the Dumagats. Toys, grocery items, kitchen utensils, hygiene kits, and two jetmatic pumps were properly turned-over.  Also, the Chieftain and distinguished members of the community, and all the lawyers who supported the activity were awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the IBP-Isabela Officers.

Vice Mayor Reynaldo Derije, Councilor Shelah Puig, and PMajor Mervin G. Delos Santos, chief of police graced the said activity.

On May 27, 2023, the 2nd Free Legal Aid and Lecture was conducted at San Mateo Community Center.

Meanwhile, Atty. Damasen, the Governor of IBP Northern Luzon Chapter relinquished his post recently. He will be serving the IBP as a member of the Philippine International Center for Conflict Resolution. The newly elected Atty. Minerva Taguinod of IBP-Kalinga will take her oath being the new Governor on July 4, 2023, at the Supreme Court in Ermita, Manila.#  MAE BARANGAN
