Uniqlo Philippines together with SM Foundation recently turned over new handwashing facilities at Joaquin Smith National High School (JSNHS). This initiative is part of their Balik Eskwela program, providing 10 schools around the country with access to handwashing facilities and helping refurbish other school facilities.

In her welcome remarks during the turnover of the facilities, Rona Vida B. Correa, SM City Mall Manager said, “We are grateful for the trust and confidence you have bestowed on us to be part of this monumental partnership in building the handwashing facility that aids in assuring a safety amongst its students and faculty.”

The facility will benefit more than one thousand students and will provide small infrastructure support which is necessary for sustained behavior modification and developing of positive habits of children on personal hygiene and sanitation.

The ceremony concluded with the awarding of a winner of the mural painting contest. Zyra Dacuyan, a grade 11 student, won first place out of all the students who competed.

UNIQLO Philippines has been collaborating with SMFI since 2012 and Uniqlo-Balik Eskwela Project is part of the celebration of Uniqlo’s 10th year anniversary in the Philippines. ### (PR)
