Groundbreaking of P381Million Youth Convergence Center and Indoor Sports Complex Project
BAGUIO CITY – Pinatunayan ng city officials at ng City Buildings and Architecture Office Head Archt. Johhny Degay , Department of Public Works and Highways at ng District Engineering Office ang pagsagawa ng groundbreaking ng Youth Convergence Center and Indoor Sport Complex project na pinangunahan nina Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Congressman Mark Go, Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan at Councilor Levy Lloyd Orcales sa tabi ng Swimming Pool, Baguio Athletic Complex noong February 9, 2022.
Pinasalamatan ni CBAO Officials Degay ang city officials dahil sa magandang pamumuno ay nakita na ang katotohanan ng proyekto
“The project is 5-storey structure with an aggregate area of more than 11,000 square meters, it is dedicated to our SK (Kabataan brothers) and with these amenities, I believe this is one of a kind in our region, this is very unusual as a project of the city,”
Chairman, Committee on Youth Welfare Sports and Development Councilor Orcales said, “Ang nais po namin ang lungsod ng Baguio ay maging pundasyon ng tunay at genuine na youth empowerment and development in our city, maraming naghangad na maglungsad ng programa at proyekto for our youth but today we will be witnesses to the manifestation of the plans aspirations and the clamor of the youth and our athletes to finally have a Youth Convergence Center and Indoor Sports Complex to develop the skills capabilities of our youth and as well as the skills who have been representing the city in our country in national and international sports competition, Maraming Salamat po Mayor sa proyekytong ito at nagawa na ito under your administration your very much lucky this opportunity, this is a legacy and with this will always be of youth development and active development in the city of Baguio,” Orcales Said.
Ayon naman kay Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan, “All the government officials are united, what does that mean to us, we have a unity fulfilling the 15-point agenda of this administration,”
Sinabi naman ni Go, “Isa lang ito sa mga naka line up na program sa city, and we have seen that if we work together and nurturing the funding and perpetration of this program will be able to achieve this marami pa ito and I understand there is also an effort to fix the oval and that would require funding not only from the city government of Baguio but even from the national government through the DPWH ang susunod nito ay yun Wright Park gagawin rin yan and other places here hinihintay lang natin ma release ang budget,”
“Ang funding na galing sa DPWH o sa National funding ay P50 milyon out of the P381 milyon, ngayon napag uusapan namin yun oval na kelangan additional P40 milyon at nasabi ni Bony kung pwede isama ito sa 2023 budget, because we have suppose to submit the budget for 2023 on Friday to be consolidated the other provinces in the Cordillera,”
May pabiro naman napansin si Mayor Magalong sa design ng proyekto sa kanyang mensahe “Habang tinitingnan natin yun design the first thing that came to my mind is that the time we come up with the government project kung ano yun nakalagay sa tarpaulin yun nasa drawing iba lagi ang lumalabas so, that is a challenge to the winning contractor, we have 6 bidders, I requesting the winning contractor kung sana kung ano ang nasa drawing ay ganyan rin sana ang makikita namin, we spending taxpayers money dito, we are spending more than half a billion peso for this Athletic project alone, more project will be coming,” pagtatapos ni Magalong.
