Four illegal drugs seller arrested in a buy-bust operation

CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – (April 20, 2021) –  The continuous fight against illegal-drugs of the Police Regional Office Cordillera resulted in the arrests of two (2) High Value-Individual drug personalities and other two (2) drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Abra and Benguet on April 18 and 19, 2021. 

Based from the reports given by the respective Provincial Offices, Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, identified the arrested suspects as Diagan Wansi Edegan, 29; Romeo Rosel Mocay Jr (HVI), 33; and live-in partners, Ariel Dumlao Benedito (HVI) 43 and Anna Liza Abella Millare, 42.

On April 18, Abra operatives arrested live-in partners, Ariel Benedito and Anna Millare in Barangay Bangbangar, Bangued Cemetery after they sold illegal drugs to the operative who acted as poseur-buyer.

During their arrest, seized from the suspects were one (1) Gray sling bag; five (5) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less two (2) grams with standard drug price of Php13,600; two (2) Blue lighters, one (1) brown leather pistol holster; one (1) Llama caliber 7.65mm with serial no. 109264; one (1) magazine assembly; seven (7) rounds calibre 7.65 mm live ammos;  buy-bust money, a genuine 1000-peso bill and their vehicle, Honda RS 150 motorcycle with plate number 14010.

On the same day, Benguet operatives also arrested suspect Diagan Wansi Edegan along Barangay Bulalacao, Mankayan, after selling illegal drugs to the poseur-buyer.

Confiscated from him were three (3) transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.24 grams with an estimated value of Php 1,632.00; one (1) genuine 1000-peso bill used as buy bust money; and a vivo cellular phone.

Meanwhile on April 19, operatives from Benguet led by the Regional Intelligence Division of PROCOR arrested Romeo Rosel Mocay Jr after transacting with the poseur-buyer. Mocay sold two (2) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of .5 grams and an estimated value of Php 3,400 in Longlong Road, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Recovered items from the suspect were a Huawei touchscreen cellular phone, and the buy-bust money, one (1) genuine 1,000-peso bill and one (1) 1,000 boodle money.

All arrested suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to the respective operating units for proper documentation and disposition.

Cases for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (R.A 9165) were filed to all four (4) suspects. Further, in addition to RA 9165, violation of Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (R.A 10591) will be charged against Ariel Benedito. (PROCOR-PIO)
