FORMER CNT MEMBER VOLUNTARILY SURRENDERS IN ABRA
Another rebel returnee operating with the CPP-NPA-Terrorist (CNT) had returned to the folds of the law and voluntarily surrendered to the authorities in the province of Abra on August 23, 2023.
According to the reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., the rebel returnee surrendered after a series of negotiations conducted by the joint operatives of the 2nd Abra Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) led by PLTCOL DICKSON K BANES, the Force Commander of the 2nd Abra PMFC; the 1st Abra PMFC; the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of the Abra PPO; the Manabo Municipal Police Station (MPS); the Regional Intelligence Division (RID); the Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU-14); the 1504th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15); and the 24th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.
The former rebel surrendered without a firearm and expressed his support for the Unification Program of the National Task Force to End Local Communist and Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) under Executive Order No. 70 of the government and the (RLECC), Resolution No. 6, series of 2021 “Dumanon Makitungtung” (Come and Talk to Villagers).
The rebel returnee is now under the custody of the 2nd Abra PMFC for custodial debriefing. (PRO CORDILLERA – PIO / File Photos)
