Filling out forms at mall entrances may now be trivial
DOES IT STILL SERVE THE PURPOSE? The filling up of forms before entering establishments in the city is still being implemented until now. The practice was generally assumed to aid in contact tracing in the beginning when Covid19 was emerging.
During the Kapihan sa Baguio on Thursday, August 12, 2021, DOH-CAR assistant regional director Amelita Pangilinan said the checking of body temperature by assigned personnel at the entrance of establishments is more important, as well as the application of alcohol, and expressed her concern about whether individuals fill out the forms with legitimate entries, and if these forms are being analyzed and reported, and if there are feedbacks.
“Parang it does not serve the purpose…Anyway, ang contact tracing naman ay pinupunta talaga sa pasyente, siya ang nagsusulat kung sino ang mga nakahalubilo nya, mga nakasama nya…mga close contact nya, yun ang mas importante,” Pangilinan said. (It seems that it does not serve the purpose…Anyway, in contract tracing, it is the patient who writes down who he had associated with, was with…and his close contacts, that is more important.)
Pangilinan urges the public’s participation towards making the “new normal” a “better normal” for everyone, with the following key reminders:
1. Ensure good ventilation especially when indoors;
2. Get the jab. Vaccinations will push through be it ECQ or GCQ;
3. When in doubt, isolate, quarantine. We should be better safe than sorry; and
4. Share responsibly. Stop the spread of misinformation and disinformation by sharing information only from reputable sources.
“Let us prepare better, fight harder, recover stronger, and rise higher as one Cordillera,” Pangilinan said. //Merriam del Rosario, FNS
