Diversion road at Loakan

City Engineering Office personnel fast-tracks the diversion of the road from Purok Pongian to the access road at Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) at Loakan Airport.
CEO Maintenance Division Head Engr. Richard Lardizabal said diverting and connecting both roads of Pongian and access road going to the Loakan main road would prevent cars coming from the puroks of Pongian, Ongasan and Mangga from traversing the edge of the airport runway.
He said they will try to complete the diversion road until Monday, Nov. 28, 2022.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong had earlier directed concerned offices to ensure proper management of traffic in the area preparatory to the airport’s reopening to air travel on Dec. 16, 2022.
The mayor’s resumption of domestic commercial flights will help boost the growth of the city’s tourism industry. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
