DIVERGENCE & CONVERGENCE performing artists of the Baguio Creative City

The IBAGIW 2022 Emblem CORE elements are the Diamond, Plaid patterns inspired by Cordillera woven fabric colors, Bold outward brush strokes and splashes of color, Patterns inspired by Cordillera Batok (tattoos), and Diamond border painting north, south, east, and west.

The brilliance of a diamond comes from a combination of reflection, dispersion, and refraction. A ray of light (a combination of all colors) first passes through a diamond and is then refracted and then dispensing a myriad of wonderful colors that are reflected through each facet. The precious gem represents abundance, strength, power, courage, fortitude, creativity, imagination, purity, and harmony.

“Diversity  – the existence of different ways to be and act, Convergence – independent entities acting and being adherence and harmony. Both methods are not mutually exclusive, nonetheless, because unity does not certainly mean conformity. Divergent ways of being and acting can blend harmoniously, and thus converge”

“DIVERGENCE & CONVERGENCE” – A theatrical production that brings together the best of the best performing artists of the Baguio Creative City in one explosive performance presents the Evolution, Obra Maestra, The Tale of the Flame, The Four Elements, and the Glocal Explosion on November 12 for the opening salvo of Ibagiw 2022, at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center. The presentation is directed by Theatre and Film Director, Ferdie Balanag featuring stellar performances by Baguio Metamorphosis and Aloha Dance Company, Ballet Baguio, Home: A Company of Creatives, Ms. Ingrid Payaket, Blue Ruins, Ms. Karen Navarette- Anton and many more.  Photos by:  Mario Oclaman //FNS
