Data show number of deaths up in unvaccinated group, not fully vaccinated group follows
Full vaccination with booster shots is still encouraged as data show that the unvaccinated population registered the highest number of deaths amongst all categories.
This was the confirmed Covid-19 data presented by City Health Services Office (CHSO) Assistant head Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes during the city hall management committee meeting Tuesday morning.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong during the meeting, directed aggressive tracking of and administration of vaccines to unvaccinated and unboostered individuals, in schools, construction areas, business establishments, such as groceries and call centers.
Dr. Brillantes assured the mayor that all medical personnel in health centers and vaccination areas are working continuously. Mobile vaccinators are also moving around the communities for the unvaccinated and unboostered.
She clarified that in her presentation, the data is from August 18, 2021 up to the present, with a base population of 26,681.
From said population, there are a total of 434 (1.63%) deaths from 7,783 unvaccinated individuals of which 316 or 4.06% died from Covid-19 infection.
From the 702 individuals who may have had only one vaccine, thus considered as not fully vaccinated, 7 died (1.00%).
For the 11,235 fully vaccinated, there are 103 deaths (0.92%); from the 2,932 not eligible for vaccination, 8 deaths occurred (0.27%); while in the 4,029 boostered, another 8 (0.20%) deaths were counted.
As to Covid-19 illness severity, from the 82 (0.31%) individuals who suffered severe symptoms; 55 were unvaccinated, 21 were fully vaccinated, three were not eligible for vaccination, two had booster shots, and only 1 is partially vaccinated.
For the overall presentation, still from the base population of 26,681; 8,328 (31.21%) are asymptomatic; 17,243 (65.30%) had mild symptoms; 406 (1.52%) had moderate symptoms; 82 (0.31%) had severe symptoms. Dr. Brillantes’ report also included the top three barangays with the highest number of cases and deaths. Irisan has 3,243 confirmed cases with 76 deaths (2.34%); Loakan proper has 33 deaths out of the 1,973 confirmed cases, thus 1.67%. Camp 7 has 2,244 confirmed cases, one of the barangays with highest cases and Bakakeng Central has 34 deaths. – JGFianza
