Council okays BCPO Station 7 fundraising
City officials recently approved the request of the Barangay Peace and Order Advisory Council of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station No. 7 to conduct fund-raising activity at Jacinto Street, Malcolm Square barangay from July 16-30, 2024 subject to conditions.
Under Resolution No. 423, series of 2024, the Committee on Market, Trade, Commerce and Agriculture, in its 22nd indorsement dated June 24, 2024, recommended approval of the said request for 15 days only for the period July 16-30, 2024 subject to conditions.
Earlier, the city council considered Joint Resolution No. 02, series of 2024 of the Barangay Peace and Order Advisory Council (BPOAC) of BCPO Station No. 7 that endorsed the sponsorship of Malcolm Square barangay at Perfect Street for the conduct of a fund-raising activity of BPOAC Station 7 intended to fund the plans, projects and activities of the council to maintain peace and order in the central business district.
Further, the need for a fundraising activity is intended to fund the plans, projects and activities of BPOAC Station 7 for the procurement of uniforms, communication equipment and apparels.
Among the conditions imposed by the council for the conduct of the activity include that the number of stalls shall be determined by the City Engineering Office; the fund raising activity shall occupy one lane of Jacinto Street; the fund raising activity shall be permitted from July 16-30, 2024; the management of pedestrians and traffic shall all under the purview of the 16 barangays under the BPOAC Station No. 7; the participants shall comply with all the requirements needed in securing special permits from the Permits and Licensing Division, City Mayor’s Office; and the participants shall obtain barangay permits from Malcolm Square barangay.
Moreover, the participants shall sell products or items not being sold at the Baguio City public market.
The council required the BPOAC Station No. 7 to submit a liquidation or terminal report to the body within 15 days after the conduct of this activity on the proceeds of the fund raising event.
Copies of the resolution will be transmitted to the BPOAC Station No. 7 for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. Dexter A. See
