CORDI COPS NET P2.7M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS AND ARREST TWO IN DAY-LONG DRUG OPS

A coordinated anti-drug operation across the provinces of Benguet, Abra, and Ifugao led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of illegal drugs, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP2,772,628.00 on August 15, 2024.

In Benguet, joint operatives from the  Bakun Municipal Police Station (MPS), Kibungan MPS, and other units of the Benguet Provincial Police Office (PPO), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) eradicated 13,700 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with a SDP of PhP2,740,000.00 in the municipalities of Bakun and Kibungan. Simultaneously, a 32-year-old high-value individual was apprehended in the municipality of Mankayan, following the execution of a search warrant that yielded 0.16 grams of suspected shabu with a SDP of P1,088.00 from the suspect’s residence.

In Abra, another suspect was arrested after authorities seized 4.05 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of PhP27,540.00. The operation involved personnel from the PDEA, the Abra Provincial Police Office, and other law enforcement units.

Meanwhile, in Ifugao, a marijuana operation conducted by joint operatives of Banaue MPS, PDEA-CAR, and other Ifugao PPO units uncovered 20 pieces of FGMJP with a SDP of PhP4,000.00 in Sitio Mallim, Brgy. Viewpoint, Banaue, Ifugao.

All confiscated illegal drugs will undergo forensic examination, while the arrested individuals will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Also, PRO-CAR cops are currently conducting follow-up operations to identify other individuals involved in the illegal drug trade and dismantle their operations. (PRO-CAR PIO/ File Photos)
