Cordi Cops Arrest High Value Drug Personality, Seize Over PhP5.1M Worth of Illegal Drugs in One-Day Drug Ops

As part of the unwavering anti-illegal drugs campaign of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), a high value drug personality was arrested and over Php5.1M worth of illegal drugs were seized during the separate operations conducted in the provinces Pof Abra and Benguet on February 10, 2025.

In Abra, a 52-year-old male, listed as a High Value Individual, was arrested, and five sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 2.40 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP16,320.00 were seized during the buy-bust operation conducted by the joint operatives of Bangued Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO), Regional Intelligence Division of PRO CAR, Regional Intelligence Unit 14, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Brgy. Lubong, Bangued.

The suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Bangued MPS for documentation and proper disposition. The suspect will be facing charges for violation of R.A. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, in Benguet, a series of marijuana eradication operations led to the discovery of eight marijuana plantation sites with 7,500 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants and 30,000.00 grams of dried marijuana stalks, leaves, and fruiting tops with an overall SDP of PhP5,100,000.00 in Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan and Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun by the joint forces of Kibungan MPS, Bakun MPS, PDEU and PIU of Benguet PPO, and PDEA-CAR.

All discovered marijuana plants were thoroughly documented, uprooted, and incinerated on-site with sufficient samples collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR. Additionally, operatives are actively conducting further investigations to identify other potential marijuana cultivation sites in nearby areas and to apprehend individuals involved in these activities.
