City’s Covid vaccine supply breaches 100,000
The city government continues to have an abundant stock of anti-Coronavirus Diseases 2019 vaccines totaling 110,555 as of March 28 despite the dramatic decrease in infections in the Summer Capital that is currently under Alert Level 1 until March 31.
During the regular management committee meeting, March 29, of city officials, led by Mayor Benjamin Magalong, City Health Officer Dr. Rowena Galpo said the supply includes 50,034 Pfizer vaccines for those aged 12 and older; and 23,150 for children five to 11 years of age.
There are also 23,360 AstraZeneca vaccines; 6,940 Moderna; 5,313 Sinovac; and 1,758 Gamaleya vaccines that the city currently has in stock, she disclosed.
Earlier, the Mayor revealed that due to its ample supply of vaccines coupled with its high vaccination rate, the city has already donated around 100,000 of the vaccines to other local government units in the country.
He said the city government has donated to Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, several provinces of Region III including Nueva Ecija, and more.
The Mayor said the city will also donate to several other provinces in Region IV that are also asking for vaccines and is open to give to other LGUs who are in need.
“The city government will continue to donate vaccines to other LGUs that may need these even to those in the Visayas and Mindanao. Makakatulong tayo sa ating mga kababayan,” the Mayor said.
He said that several private companies continue to express their willingness to give the city thousands more of anti-Covid vaccines if requested. – Gaby B. Keith
