City to negotiate with Wright Park vendors

City officials recently authorized Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong to represent the city government to negotiate with the members of the Wright Park Vendors Association as locators or concessionaires at the Wright Park.

Further, the city’s chief executive is also authorized to sign an agreement establishing the rights and obligations of both parties.

Under Resolution No. 326, series of 2024, in a letter dated April 22, 2024, City Legal Officer Althea Rosanna V. Alberto proposed to the city legislative body the adoption of a resolution authorizing the local chief executive on behalf of the city government to execute the contract of lease with the locators or concessionaires at the Wright Park so that parties would agree on justifiable, reasonable and acceptable terms.

The resolution also authorizes the City Mayor will be allowed to negotiate with the Wright Park Vendors Association for the revisions of the agreement entered into by and between the parties concerned and to incorporate the matter relative to back rentals or arrears if any.

However, whatever agreement that will be entered into by and between the local government and the Wright Park Vendors Association shall be submitted to the local legislative body for confirmation.

Earlier, the local legislative body considered the position paper dated April 22, 2024 by Atty. Ryan James D. Solano, counsel of the Wright Park Vendors Association, regarding the notice to pay issued by the City Treasury Office demanding payment for lot rental from the vendors of the association.

Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the City Mayor and the Wright Park Vendors Association for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. – Dexter A. See
