City to implement several job-generating projects in 2022
The city government has several multi-million projects in the pipeline that are set to be implemented in 2022 and will provide a lot of much-needed jobs for skilled workers.
In a recent media forum, Mayor Benjamin Magalong said these include the Smart City Mobility System; Market Development project; Convergence Center; Sewerage System; Walkable City project; Digital Transformation Center; Session Road development; and more.
The Mayor stressed that these projects will generate thousands of employment opportunities especially for local residents.
“Employment is one of the critical components in the city’s recovery plan and these projects will provide jobs for at least local 2,500 skilled workers,” he said.
In 2019, the Mayor said he spoke with TESDA officials regarding the city’s need for local skilled workers that will be employed for the various projects.
Just recently, he said representatives of the India Business Forum visited the city and expressed their intention of establishing a medical manufacturing plant in the Summer Capital generating more job opportunities.
“Next year will be exciting for our city because of the implementation of these employment-generating projects,” the Mayor said. – Gaby B. Keith
