City simplifies building permit process to help structure owners obtain permit

The City Buildings and Architecture Office (CBAO) has spelled out its building permit application process which was streamlined in line with the city’s resolve to help those without permits the chance to legalize their structures.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong urged building owners whose structures are built on titled lots to avail of the opportunity so they can finally legalize the status of their buildings.

This includes structures that are not compliant with the provisions of the National Building Code or Presidential Decree 1096.

He said for a start, the city will cater to structures that are built on titled lots but will later deal with structures built on lots that are not titled like those covered by notices of award, those subject to ongoing titling process or those covered by tax declarations.
