City sets safer internet forum on March 23

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and City Youth Development Office (CYDO) will conduct a Safer Internet Day Forum for the Summer Capital’s children and youth on March 23 at Plaza Garden and Residences, Legarda Road.

With the theme, “Let’s Talk! Online World as a Safe Space for the Youth”, qualified resource persons will speak on relevant topics like ‘Misinformation and Disinformation: How to know and verify’ and also on the Data Privacy Act, consent, digital identity, fact checking and cyberbullying.

CSWDO head Liza Bulayungan said the forum’s primary objectives are to educate young people about online safety, promote responsible internet use, and empower them with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world securely.

She stressed that the chosen topics aim to create a safer online environment for the younger generation and promote a safer and more responsible use of the internet among them. – Gaby B. Keith
