City okays agreement for museum project

The city council passed resolution no. 424, series of 2024, confirming the memorandum of agreement (MoA) entered into by the city government represented by Mayor Benjamin Magalong with the Baguio Museum Inc. represented by its president Peter Ng for the financial assistance by the city to the museum in the amount of P800,000.

The amount is to be used for the operations in the project entitled, ‘Baguio Museum: Haven, Culture Hub, Interactive Museum’, for calendar year 2024.

A letter dated June 13, this year, of the Mayor requesting confirmation of the said MoA was considered by the local legislature.

“The MOA is critical in ensuring that the museum and the various activities that have been calendared and are seen to help boost tourism are sustained,” the approved measure stated.

In its second indorsement dated June 25, 2024, the august body’s committee on laws, human rights and justice recommended confirmation of the agreement between the city government and the Baguio Museum. – Gaby B. Keith
