City hails winners of Youth Farmer’s Challenge
6 September 2022 – The City Council, during last Monday’s regular session, commended and congratulated the winners of the Youth Farmer’s Challenge 2022 who are from the country’s undisputed Summer Capital.
In a resolution, the winners of the said competition who are from Baguio City had been granted P50,000 each for the individual category and P100,000 each for the group category or garnering a total of P550,000 winnings for the Baguio-based participants.
The Young Farmers Challenge Fund is a competitive financial grant assistance program for youth aged 18 to 30 years old who are so-called farmer-entrepreneurs or engaged in agri-fishery enterprises.
Further, it assists the youth beneficiaries with business development services, including trainings and mentoring, product development, market linking, among others.
Eight participants from the city joined the provincial level of the said competition where seven entries have qualified to join the regional level of the competition, namely, individual category; Elias U. Estol of Elija’s Organic Garden; Danirish G. Catbagtan of Dannz Chili Taro Ice Cream; and Raquel O. Dungpaen of A New Hope Aquaponics and group category; Jerry C. Farocanag and Sharon G. Sad-ayan of Hadashi Natural Farm: Advance Mushroom Cultivation; Lani C. Felix, Irish B. Arcita, Jian L. Lee and Clauden G. Yossayos of Dose of Wellness All Natural Beverages; Jethro B. Estangki and Fran Jim P. Dilla or Nascents Digital Solutions and Marfin F. Por-ayan and Jayemille Kate B. Alumno of Backyard Poultry Ventures. – Dexter A. See
