City greets midwives group on 15th National Confab

City officials recently congratulated the Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines (IMAP), Inc. on their 15th Midyear National Conference held on May 1-3, 2024 at the New Town Plaza Hotel along Leonard Wood Road.

In a resolution, city legislators stated that such contribution of the IMAP to the midwifery practice is truly commendable granting its scope, both nationally and internationally, and will surely advocate professionalism in the practice and enhancement of midwifery as a profession.

Earlier, the IMAP, Inc., the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) accredited organization for midwives, held its 15th National Midyear Conference last May 1-3, 2024 at the New Town Plaza Hotel.

The said conference is a simultaneous celebration to usher in the International Day of Midwives held all over the world every 5th day of May which was established in the year 1992 by the International Confederation of Midwives to give acclaim and raise awareness about the midwifery profession and its importance to society.

With the event circling around the theme ‘Embracing A Transformative Era for Midwives,’ discussed through a series of lectures, local and national members will greatly be empowered to understand the pillars of education, regulation, and association as an enabling environment for quality midwifery practice.

Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the IMAP, Inc. for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. – Dexter A. See
