CITY ENTERS MOA WITH FUJICLEAN

Mayor Benjamin Magalong, representing the city government of Baguio, signed a memorandum of agreement with FujiClean represented by Yosuke Tabata on August 28, 2024, at the Baguio Smart Command Center. Under the MOA, FujiClean will implement a decentralized wastewater treatment system demonstration in partnership with the city spearheaded by the City Engineering Office and City Environment and Parks Management Office. The signing was witnessed by several city officials and FujiClean Representatives.

The Mayor expressed his optimism that this project will result in a sustainable solution to the city’s wastewater woes, allowing Baguio City to further urbanize and cement itself as a top destination in the Philippines for local and international tourists.

Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan also expresses his profound gratitude and appreciation for the established partnership between FujiClean and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for its unwavering support in improving the wastewater treatment system. Photos by Neil Clark Ongchangco
