CITY DAD EYES MORE “KAWAYAN” IN CAUAYAN CITY

CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela– Following the city’s latest recognition- 4th Most Improved City 2022 awarded by the Dept. of Trade and Industry, Mayor Jaycee Dy here is eyeing more innovative local products out of bamboo as raw materials so that the city can establish a unique identity in the market.

In an interview conducted at the City Mayor’s office on Oct. 21, 2022, Dy said that the bamboo planting activities in the city had been conducted continuously to produce sufficient resources in due time. “Right now, we are developing a bamboo farm in San Pablo,” Dy said.

He also said that a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the City Government and all Barangay Officials will be signed purposely to develop a bamboo farm in every barangay. “Ito po ay magiging dagdag income sa ating mga barangay sa dahilang ‘yong mga itatanim po nilang bamboo, iyon din ang kukunin natin na panggawa ng produkto so magiging sustainable sya”, Dy said.# Mae Barangan
