City commends PSC ‘Gintong Gaward’ Awardees

The Summer Capital is teeming with a lot of achievers in various fields including that of sports.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong ratified city council resolution no. 364, series of 2022, congratulating and commending Patricia Claire Bleau A. Pacheco and Sherry Ann G. Floresca as ‘Gintong Gawad’ Awardees of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC)-Women in Sports held on June 14, this year, at the Subic Bay Travelers Hotel.

The measure states that the Gintong Gawad is a national awards platform to celebrate and pay tribute to ground-breaking, inspiring, notable, timeless, and outstanding contributions to the promotion and development of women and sports and the grassroots level.

Pacheco, a learner of the Baguio Special Education Center, received the award for ‘Babaeng Atleta, Modelo ng Kabataan (Person with Disability).

Floresca, meanwhile, garnered the award for ‘Proyektong Isport Pangkababaihan’, and is a junior high school student of the University of the Cordilleras.“

Baguio city is proud to commend and congratulate the awardees for showing excellence in their respective fields and bringing home tremendous pride and honor to the city and its constituents,” the resolution states. – Gaby B. Keith
