City appeals for more disaster volunteers

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) chaired by Mayor Benjamin Magalong are calling for more disaster volunteers who will be registered under the CDRRM Office’s (CDRRMO) Baguio Disaster Volunteer Management Unit (BDVMU) as their Volunteer Mobilizing Organization (VMO).
CDRRMO head Antonette Anaban, CDRRMC secretariat chief, said qualifications for individual volunteers are: Filipino citizen, 18 years old and above; no pending criminal liability; resident foreign nationals must have ACR I-Card; volunteers below 21 years old must submit duly signed parental consent.
For Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and the private sector: Provide evidence that DRRM is one of their primary activities; at least two weeks of experience in DRRM-related activities; with proven experience, skills or relevant training of officers, staff members or volunteers in DRRM-related activities or services.
For volunteer tasks requiring special skills and/or experience: At least one year cumulative work or experience relevant to volunteer tasks; physically fit to undertake volunteer tasks and roles.
Meanwhile, requirements for VMOs are Completed application form for accreditation; and list of community disaster volunteers.
