City announces accreditation of CSOs, NGOs

The city government announces the start of accreditation or reaccreditation of civil society organizations (CSO), non-government organizations (NGO), people’s organizations (PO), indigenous peoples’ organizations (IPO) and civic organizations in Baguio City.

The City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) announced that the first week of July will be the posting of inventory schedule and existing list of CSOs followed by the conduct of inventory by the second week of the month.

The third to fourth week of July is the posting of an updated list of CSOs and verification of CSO information while the last week of the month will be the posting of the final updated directory of CSOs.

The city has accredited 51 CSOs from July 2019 to June 30, 2022 focused on various sectors of the society such as cultural, business, cooperatives, health care volunteers, senior citizens, children, women, family, youth, education, IPs, religious, land, employees’ organizations, transportation and animal rights among others.

Inquiries and concerns on accreditation or reaccreditation requirements may be directed to the CPDO through Ms. Grace Cadsiwing at Tel. No. (074) 442-6607 or via email: cityplanninganddevelopment@gmail.com.

This is in compliance with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular No. 2022-083 or the “Guidelines on the Accreditation of Civil Society organization and Selection of Representatives to the Local Special Bodies.”

The local government code mandates LGUs to promote the establishment and operation of people’s organizations and the private sector to active partners in the pursuit of local autonomy and to directly involve them in the plans, programs and projects or activities of the LGU. – JMPS/PIO BAGUIO
