Brand new 19 modernized jeepneys to operate route of Aurora Hill, Trancoville, and Dominican Hill this July
BAGUIO CITY – The Cordillera Basic Sectors Transport Cooperative (CBSTC) performed orientation to the members and operators headed by JMC Philippines officers after the blessing of the units led by Severine Martin and the CBSTC pledge led by Roger a. Baiwes – Secretary-General, CBSTC held at Baguio Athletic Bowl last June 28, 2022.
In the opening statement of Jude G. Wal – chairman, CBSTC.
He said, “For the first time in history of the public utility vehicle modernization program ng isang supplier ng modernized jeepney ay nagbigay ng libreng basic supplies at scanner na ginagamit kung may problema ang sasakyan.
“JMC Isuzu completely built unit na ito ang hinahanap ng Cordillera at angkop na angkop dahil nasa tourism area tayo.
Itong mga units ay Class 2 pang short distance na 10 kilometers and below, maganda ito sa ating siyudad ng Baguio.
“Route for Aurora Hill, Trancoville at Dominican Hill in support to the program of our Mayor Magalong for us to modernize the Central Business District and as of show of support that Baguio City is the first Smart City of the Philippines.
“These 19 units are brand new 9 will go to Aurora Hill to become 18 units all, 6 will go to Trancoville to make 15 units and the 4 units will go to Dominican Hill.”
“As far as the Local Public Transport Route Plan of the city is concern ang proposal nila originally kasi ang Aurora Hill is more than 300 units, Trancoville also is more than 300 units pero the proposal of LPTRP is tig 150 units and that will decongest really yun Central Business District natin and the other extra units ang proposal ng LTFRB ilagay sa mga new development route kaya walang mawawala, yun issue na may mawawala actually wala because we have new development routes na doon sila mailalagay,”
“The unit cost is P2.450 million payable in 7 years, “Wal said.
According to Joey Picadeso-Vice President for Sales and Marketing, “We the JMC, we are supporting the government modernization program na programa ni PRRD na tinutuloy natin ngayon, ang JMC ay nakasuporta sa programa na tinatawag na 5,6,7 which is 5 means is 5 percent downpayment, 6 is 6 percent interest and 7 is 7 years to pay, ibig sabihin magbabayad ang COOP ng 5 percent downpayment na may 6 percent interest and then pitong taon babayaran ng cooperative ang loan.
In an interview with Eryx Guiang – Vice President For after Sale and Realty Development, “This will be a partnership between JMC and CBSTC that should be built with trust and confidence and part of JMC desire is to train their people, orient offer that basic fundamental and safety and about the transfer of technology so that these members can easily conduct basic troubleshooting and serviceability we should be able to identify an accredit service while we are waiting for specific garage own by the CBSTC so that we can accredit CBSTC as one of our service garages.
“We have a 3-year and 100,000-kilometer warranty coverage with that a certain period we have at least 3 months or 5,000 kilometers to perform the required periodic maintenance services. That is why as part of our support we have come up with the special pricing program for the members of CBSTC so that it becomes more affordable to them because having these parts available while parts are considered are two different things so we need to address the liability and competitiveness for the members only.
“We should always recognize na itong mga considered work horses na nasa likod natin hindi dapat ito maantala sa biyahe, dito nakasalalay ang pangkabuhayan ng bawat miyembro so, isinaalang ala namin ang importansiya na dapat ito ay umaandar sa lahat ng pagkakataon parts is just a thing na dapat ay holistic approach kaya nabanggit ko kanina na magkaroon pa ng orientation, technical training, because we wanted to make sure that our members, technician are not just merely mechanical person, we should be able to transform them to become a knowledgeable, skillful and with great attitude, ito ang adhikain ng JMC na kaakibat ang CBSTC para magampanan namin lahat ito, there should always be parts available in the market,” Guiang said.
Nagbigay naman ng statement si Mayor Benjamin Magalong kaugnay sa transportation modernization
“We continue to be very persistent and patient despite the challenges they are facing now, especially there are many that came out attacking them pero ang maganda nito is they never back down, they continue to work on their vision and these result, itong people still continue to a company is continue to trust them not only show that they continue to have to establish the credibility and reputation as a cooperative.
Baguio City is the first city that submitted its expression of interest in low carbon urban transport system that was in 2019 and was working closely with the United Nations development program and DOTR as to be able to bring down the level of our carbon emission, and one of the components of that is the modernization ng ating transport sector and this part of that modernization, maraming challenges especially because of this pandemic its slow down the progress of these project but I would like to congratulate Jude Wal and his theme dahil hindi pa rin sila nasisiraan ng loob, tuloy-tuloy pa rin and their passion to really modernized is clearly show by these new sets of modernized jeepneys na dumating ngayon and I’m really glad pati JMC ay tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang pagtitiwala nila sa CBSTC,” pagtatapos ni Magalong. # Mario Oclaman //FNS
