BONTOC, Mountain Province– The Bureau of Fire Protection – Mt. Province continues to remind the community of the shared responsibility between the Bureau and the community in maintaining a safe and peaceful celebration of the holidays, free from firework-related injuries.
SFO4 Ireneo Jose F. Agcapen of the provincial BFP office said they are strengthening their information education drive on “Paalala-Iwas Paputok 2021” thru the conduct of Oplan Ligtas na Pamayanan, a flagship fire prevention program of the Bureau with its primary purpose to secure the safety of the public.
The Iwas Paputok campaign seeks to encourage revelers, especially children to just watch fireworks displays in their communities instead of buying and lighting dangerous firecrackers for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.
The BFP is also focused on strengthening the KAISA: Call-to-Action Against Destructive Fire Campaign. Through this, the Bureau seeks the participation of partner stakeholders from government offices, private establishments, and other organizations in their efforts to spread fire safety awareness and prevention.
Fire prevention and fire safety is not only the concern of the BFP but it should be a concern of the community and everyone, Agcapen said. (JDP/VLT-PIA CAR. Mt. Province)
