BENGUET COPS ARREST STREET-LEVEL DRUG PERSONALITY, DESTROY OVER P1.3M WORTH OF DRIED MARIJUANA

The Cabalyero cops of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) arrested a street-level drug personality and destroyed over P1.3M worth of dried marijuana during separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in La Trinidad and Bakun, Benguet on May 28, 2024.

In La Trinidad, the joint operatives of La Trinidad Municipal Police Station (MPS), Regional Intelligence Division, Benguet PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and PDEA- CAR arrested a 30-year-old male carrot packer, listed as a Street Level Individual, after he sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less (MOL) 0.48 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php3,264.00 to an operative who posed as a buyer during the buy-bust operation conducted in Brgy Balili.

The arrested suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to La Trinidad MPS for documentation and proper disposition while cases for violation of R.A. 9165 are being prepared against the suspect.

On the same day in Bakun, MOL 11,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks with an SDP of Php1,320,000.00 were discovered by the joint operatives of Bakun MPS, Benguet PPO PDEU, Regional Intelligence Unit -14, and PDEA-CAR during the marijuana eradication operation conducted in Sitio Bulisay, Brgy Kayapa.

The discovered dried marijuana plants were documented and burned onsite while enough samples were taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit- Cordillera.

The PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, lauded the Cabalyero cops for their accomplishment and assured the public that PRO Cordillera will continue to perform the mandate to support the PNP’s campaign against illegal drugs and will strive harder to destroy marijuana plants and arrest drug peddlers in the region.  (PRO CORDILLERA PIO / File Photo)
