A week after super typhoon Pepito, the Benguet Electric Cooperative sends a team to assist its neighbor Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (NUVELCO) to restore power to the province.
Coordinated by the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association (PHILRECA) and the National Electrification Administration (NEA), this is the second team BENECO has sent to assist neighboring electric cooperatives (EC) badly battered by the series of super typhoons that hit north Luzon provinces.
Task Force Kapatid (TFK) are coordinated by PHILRECA and NEA to give succor to ECs badly damage by calamities and ask for assistance due to the sheer extent of damages that they cannot manage to rebuild on their own. A bayanihan practice of EC’s that has proven the deep ties in the rural electrification for decades, and fast track the restoration of power for affected consumers.
The 11-man heavy maintenance team, led by Engr. Percival Aspillan sent to assist in the restoration of power in Cagayan Valley under the Cagayan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CAGELCO) II, along with other neighboring ECs were sent to assist after Super typhoon Marce damaged major infrastructures in the distribution system.
The four linemen Denver Karry, Ceryl Linmipao, Joshua Madongit, and James Oplas, Jr. led by Engr. Christopher George Tait were reminded to always exercise safety precautions by general manager Melchor Licoben at the send-off early this morning.
General manager Melchor Licoben and network services department manager Ramel Rifani, reminded the team for NUVELCO to always think of safety and carry the passion and badge of BENECO in power restoration. **(LSI)
