BCPO Vowed to Step Up Security for Election Poll 2023

Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) City Director PCOL FRANCISCO B BULWAYAN, Jr., vowed not to let their guard down despite finding no possible security threat against the upcoming 2023 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) during the City Joint Security Control Center meeting at the DUMOL Hall Beneco, South Drive, Baguio City on September 29, 2023.

The meeting was presided over by Atty. John Paul Martin, City Election COMELEC Officer, participated with the BCPO Command Group and Staff, Station Commanders 1-10, and Chief of Operating Units led by PCOL FRANCISCO B BULWAYAN, JR, City Director and representatives from various government agencies and the media.

Atty. Martin updated the council on the guidelines and campaign rules for the upcoming elections, including the implementation of the Kontra-Bigay initiatives and the OPLAN “BAKLAS” poster.

During the meeting, COMELEC tapped the assistance of BCPO and other law enforcement agencies to track down any form of vote-buying and to prepare for the Oplan Bakas operations, which target the removal of campaign posters that do not conform to the prescribed size and were posted in unauthorized locations.

Atty. Martin also announced that the unity walks and peace covenant signing on October 18 will also serve as the launch of the campaign period, which will officially start on October 19.
