Baguio Muay Thai athlete commended
City officials congratulated and commended Islay Erika Asiong Bomogao for being the champion in the 45-kilogram division during the 2022 national Muay Thai championships in Subic Bay, Zambales last November 29 to December 3, 2022.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that Bomogao’s achievement yet again proves that Baguio City is one of the home of world class athletes thereby giving pride and honor to the city.
The 2022 Philippine National Muay Thai championships was held at Subic Bay gymnasium, Subic Freeport zone, Zambales last November 29 to December 3, 2022.
The 5-day event was organized by the Muay Thai Association of the Philippines (MAP), the national governing body for Muay Thai in the country.
Ms. Bomogao, a proud Igorot warrior from the mountains of the Cordillera and a resident of Baguio city, won the 45-kilogram division plum during the said prestigious sporting event.
She has once again added decoration to her previous winnings by beating her rivals in the said tournament and bagged the medal which is concrete proof that even a petite athlete like her can achieve their dreams in no time not only with talent but also with discipline, hard work and perseverance. – Dexter A.
