Baguio gears for sustainable entrepreneurship

The city government of Baguio is gearing towards sustainable entrepreneurship as part of the multi-pronged approaches in addressing ‘urban decay’ concerns aside from traffic, pollution and water shortage problems among others.

The city government through the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) will be conducting a “Green Business Exposition” scheduled on September 1-30, 2022 at Burnham Park as part of the 2nd Saleng/Pine Tree Festival.

The exposition will highlight the need for the sustainability of businesses in the city in consideration to natural resources required and its environmental impact which will form part in coming up with transformative changes through policies for a cleaner and greener lifestyle.

The exposition will carry the theme “Towards a Greener Entrepreneurship” which aims to promote and empower different businesses or institutions that seek to achieve sustainability by creating environmentally-friendly products, services and research.

Those with sample activities, businesses, products and services or researches that are environmentally-friendly may join the exposition.

Entrepreneurial products or researches may focus on the following: construction materials; upcycled/recycled products; organic vegetables; fertilizers (less chemical usage); wastewater treatment processes; products/services/researches promoting reduce, reuse, recycle; solid waste/hazardous waste treatment; alternative waste treatment/recycling technologies; air, water, soil pollution treatment technologies; renewable energy products; and, other environmentally-friendly initiatives.
