Baguio family recognized for achievement

The City Council, during last Mondayโ€™s regular session, approved a resolution recognizing and congratulating Johnny Ingosan Adjaro, Sr. and family of Lower Balacbac, Sto. Tomas Proper barangay for being awarded as Natatanging Pamilyang Pilipino regional winner conferred by the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) bestowed by the National Committee on the Filipino Family (NCFF) of the DSWD.

In a resolution, local legislators stated that the local government expressed honor and pride for the recognition bestowed by the regional and national bodies to the Adjaro family where the same was able to prove that Baguio families could also excel in such competitions undertaken for the said purpose.

Johnny Ingosan Adjaro, Sr. is a retired high school teacher from the Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) while his spouse, Martina G. Adjaro, is a midwife who had to stop working to attend to the needs of the growing family.

The couple is blessed with 6 children, 4 girls and 2 boys. Both are descendants of the Ibaloi tribe.

Like the other couples, the council claimed that the Adjaro couple experienced hardships and challenges to provide for the needs of the family. They reportedly engaged in farming by planting highland vegetables and raising cows and hogs to be able to send their children to school.

However, the body claimed that their hard work and sacrifices were rewarded when some of their children graduated as honor students.

Moreover, all of the Adjaro children are now professionals having graduated from their chosen courses in college.

According to the resolution Mr. and Ms. Adjaro are known in the community as disciplinarians and God-gearing parents. Whatever conflicts that may arise is immediately resolved through proper communication.

The members of the Adjaro family are close with each other, neat and enjoy doing things together. They are actively engaged in community, civic and faith activities that contribute to the progress and development of their place, thus, they are looked up to as role models by many residents in their barangay. – Dexter A.
