Arts and Culture Advocates gather for CCP’s Summit during History and National Language Month
Manila, Philippines – The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) will be convening yet again the Regional Arts Center (Kaisa sa Sining) in the country for the 2024 Summit of Arts and Culture Advcoates at Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez CCP Complex. More than 50 KSS and partner regional centers for the arts would congregate at CCP black box theater on August 19 and 20.
In addition to the onsite event of arts and culture, there would be satellite venues at Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao for five sessions namely: music and its magic; when we dance, we live; theater, an inspiring human experience, film/ visual/ indigenous arts, and design, illuminating for a purpose.
The first session would start on Day 1 with a panel discussion and open forum with satellite venues at Holy Angel University, Angeles City; Central Philippines University, Iloilo; and Jose Rizal Memorial State University Dapitam City. Then there would be session 2 satellite events at St. Bridget College in Batangas City, Iloilo City National High School, and Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College, Gen. Santos City. After the first day and two sessions, there would be a synthesis, performance, and group photo with a welcome dinner.
The following day, session 3 would continue with parallel venues at Biñan City, University of La Salle Bacolod City, and La Salle University Ozamiz City. Then session 4 would be having an open house and film screening during the satellite events at the University of Santo Tomas, Legazpi City, Holy Name University, Tagbilaran City and Holy Cross of Davao College.
The penultimate session about design takes place at Marinduque State University, Ormoc City, and Hulma, Iligan City then a final synthesis, final performance, and closing ceremonies will happen. By August 21 there would be a cultural tour and farewell dinner before the departures on August 22. The said KSS RACs summit is made possible by the CCP’s Department of Cultural Exchange and respective warm reception from the various parallel and satellite venues in the archipelago. (PR)
