Another 15.3 million worth of Marijuana destroyed, 4 drug personalities collared
Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet- As part of the continuous marijuana eradication program of Police Regional Office Cordillera, another 15.3 million worth of marijuana plants were discovered and burned in seven (7) marijuana plantations sites in the province of Benguet and Kalinga from January 17 -23, 2021.
On its 3rd week of continuous marijuana eradication operations, operatives of Benguet PPO has discovered another 5,170 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants and 16.37 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board value of Php 2,998,400.00 in Kibungan, Benguet.
In Bakun, Benguet, an estimated 29,200 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants and 36.33 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board value of Php 10,199,600. 00 were discovered in various sites in Brgy. Kayapa.
Meanwhile, in Kalinga, operatives of Kalinga PPO have discovered more or less 10,800 fully grown marijuana plants with a total estimated Dangerous Drug Board of Php 2, 160,000.00 in two plantation sites in Brgy. Buscalan, Tinglayan.
Operating personnel burned the uprooted marijuana plants onsite while samples were brought for evidence tagging and inventory purposes.
For this year, PROCOR has now recorded a total of 19 marijuana eradication operations wherein a total of 149,040 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants, 97.50 kilograms of dried marijuana, and 125 pieces marijuana seedlings with a total SDP of Php40, 737,000.00 were destroyed.
Aside from marijuana eradication operations, series of buy-bust operations resulted in the arrest of four (4) drug personalities in Baguio City and Benguet.
In Baguio City, a minor was arrested by the operatives of Abanao Police Station (PS7) and one Jhunnel Lozano was arrested by the operatives of Marcos Highway Police Station (PS10).
In Benguet, La Trinidad MPS has arrested one Gideon Lastimosa Manzano while one Valentino Altona Dalmacio was arrested by Mankayan MPS. (PROCOR RPIO)
