“Ani ng Sining” webinar in Mimaropa scheduled on last Wednesday of February

Mimaropa, Philippines – In line with the celebration of National Arts Month, the MIMAROPA Special Committee on Culture (SCC) with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts is the secretariat and in collaboration with the National Youth Commission and the MIMAROPA State Universities and Colleges would be holding a webinar with the theme “Role of Youth in Culture and Arts Development.”

“Pamana 2030: Empowering MIMAROPA Youth in Culture and the Arts” would be taking place on February 26 via zoom and live-streaming in official NCCA and respective SUC official social media accounts. According to the SCC, the term Pamana 2030 reflects a forward-looking commitment to heritage conservation and creative development along with the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

Moreover, the 2025 National Arts Webinar aims to inspire and empower the youth by highlighting their vital role in cultural and artistic development, fostering a deeper appreciation for Filipino heritage. Through meaningful discussion, the event will encourage active participation in preserving and promoting culture and the arts particularly within the MIMAROPA region.

Some of the cultural heritage luminaries who would be sharing their insights about heritage and youth empowerment are MIMAROPA SCC Chairperson and NCCA executive director Dr. Eric Zerrudo, former NCCA chairperson Prof. Felipe De Leon and current Head of NCCA sub commission on the Arts Comm. Arvin Manuel Villalon, Dr. Nikka Adling of Marinduque State University would be moderator and host of the said webinar.

National Arts Month is mandated by the presidential proclamation no. 683 and promulgated by then President Corazon Aquino in 1991, declaring February of every year as National Arts month to celebrate artistic excellence and pay tribute to the uniqueness and diversity of the Filipino heritage and culture. # Randy T.
