All systems go for Trainers and Advocates assembly, opens Research Conference for online participants, researchers and students
Manila, Philippines – The Trainers and Advocates Association of the Philippines (TAAP) would be having its 2nd general membership assembly at the Technological University of the Philippines on December 16, Monday. Likewise, TAAP has opened for online participants, researchers and students its research conference via zoom platform from 8:00am to 5:00pm with the theme “Empowering Change-makers and Leaders: Future-Proof Trainers for Sustainable Progress,”
The opening ceremony will start by 8:15am with the Kalimantan Singers’s rendition of national anthem and invocation. The welcome address shall be given by the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) national capital regional director Engr. Jovencio Ferrer Jr. by 8:25am. Followed by the message by TAAP chairperson Dr. Luhren Cortes.
Dr. Christina Aquino from Asean Master Philippines, Dr. Shanti Raj from Malaysia, Dr. Jeetesh Kumar of Taylor’s University Malaysia, Assoc. Prof. Epsilandri Septyarni of Indonesia, Dr. Ingrid Ursua from Australia and Dr. Ismael Abaya Maharajaj of One Halal Philippines would be sharing their respective guest speeches to grace TAAP’s 2nd assembly.
Esteemed researchers would be presented their respective topics, Dr. Claire Yao, Dr. Elizabeth Crudo and Prof. Claire Beckley will take the stage from 9:00 to 10:30am before proceeding to breakout sessions by 11:30am. After the research presentation and lunch, award and recognition will be presented by TAAP chairperson, vice chair and Board of Directors.
Some of the highlights are the following: chairman’s golden award, membership awardees, sponsors and partners, best research and best paper and best theme, community service award, best trainer, outstanding TAAP advocate speaker, outstanding trainer, Best Regional Director and Best Board of Director.
The TAAP chair, Dr. Cortes stated, “Our solid foundation gives way in building sustainable future proof trainers not only in the Phil.but worldwide.I hope that the future officers will share the same vision and dedication in empowering the trainers regardless of their titles,position and income.A true testament of inclusivity and embodiment of trainers with the heart to serve.Let us all celebrate as we move altogether towards brighter future.”
Moreover, she added “Our strong national and international linkages provide formidable opportunites and lucrative income among our trainers.I envision the Filipino trainers to amplify their voices all over the world and get what they truly deserve. My advòcacy to provide free access to education and trainings especially to women and marginalized sector is now realized thru the collaboration of multidisciplinary trainers who share same thoughts.It is not a big organization but it magnifies the strength of cooperation and leadership.Through the untiring collective effort of our officers,we are able to make the impossible possible.We are truly the leaders and changemakers through our action.As we unfold this another milestone,let me thank those who believed and trusted us from our humble beginnings.We will not forsake you.To all the supportive partners who made us where we are today,my heart goes to all of you. It is not the time to wait for the right time to strike.This is the era of changemakers where we are able to decide when to strike .Let us take action and prove ourselves not only as trainers but leaders with purpose,passion and advocacy. Join us as we unfold the true meaning of “Train the Trainers “in action.”
The next part of the assembly and conference is a contract signing and toasting by Dr. Elvira Gabriel, then an election of officers and oath taking with raffles minor and grand prize. The last part of TAAP’s gathering is gift-giving and speciation. Then the closing remarks shall be delivered by Dr. Mary Ann Dumlao. # (Randy T. Nobleza)
