Abra COPS help in bringing water to the community

In Abra, a request for assistance from the residents of Brgy. San Jose Norte, Manabo was granted by the police officers of 2nd Abra Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).

Accordingly, the barangay officials of San Jose Norte are planning to repair an abandoned dam in Iknim River in Manabo. The local government has already provided the fund for the materials however they lack the manpower for the restoration project.

Thus, the residents seek the assistance of the 2nd Abra PMFC and the police officers positively responded.

In the spirit of the “Binnadang” culture of the Cordillerans, the police officers together with barangay officials and residents of the said barangay worked together in restoring the abandoned dam.

In just one day, they have already controlled the water flow and now the dam is supplying water to the different rice fields in Brgy. San Jose Norte and its adjacent barangays.

Meanwhile, in the remote barangay of Villaviciosa, a concrete 3×3 meters water tank was officially turned over to the residents of Brgy. Tamac.

The project was the result of the consultations of the police officers of Abra PMFC and Regional Mobile Force Company 15 (RMFB15) with the residents of the said barangay.

The construction of the project was started in November 2021 using the ELCAC fund of RMFB15 and Abra PMFC.

With its completion in January 2022, the water tank will be the source of water for the almost 160 households in Brgy. Tamac. (PROCOR-PIO)
