“A Festival for Recovery: Building a Brighter Future from Adversities” – Strawberry Festival 2023
La Trinidad, Benguet – (February 14, 2023) “Pagdiriwang para sa pagbangon sa pagbuo ng isang mas maliwanag na kinabukasan mula sa mga kahirapan”
Matalinghaga na tema para sa taong ito ang nagbabadya para palakasin ang ekonomiya at turismo sa bayan ng La Trinidad.
Sa ginanap na Kapihan sa La Trinidad ay humarap ang mga municipal official sa media para maipaabot ang kanilang paanyaya mula sa karatig probinsiya ng Benguet upang tunghayan ang kanilang nalalapit na espesyal na festival pinaghandaan maging ang 16 na barangays ay solidong nakipagkaisa para sa paghahanda ng Strawberry Festival.
Sa pambungad na pananalita ni Mayor Romeo K. Salda, “On behalf of the Municipal officials we would like to thank the livelihood, especially to those farmers of strawberry since our promotion of its One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) seems to be ready, we would like to thank all the strawberry farmers for sustaining the strawberry production in the municipality of La Trinidad and we would like to thank also the Benguet State University for the area for strawberry production and some privates area in Long Long, Puquis and some area in our municipality,”
The coffee Festival will start on February 28 to March 2, 2023
And the Strawberry Festival will start on March 6 to March 31.
“Today our highlight is for baking cake the “Twin Strawberry Cake” because as years go by there is an update of strawberry varieties and now that we are given a chance to produce white strawberries the variety is snow white which was given from China and so this will be picking the Twin Cake Strawberry on March 18, the height is 7 ft. the length is 14 ft. and diameter is 5 ft. and the amount that was proposed by the pickers in La Trinidad is P1,180,000 it will contain 16,000 slices the 1000 slices will be given away for free and the others will be given to all stakeholders P30 to P35 per piece so that for reimbursement of expenses so, hope and pray that our stakeholders will be joined to the strawberry cake pickers.
Ayon kay Vice Mayor Awingan, “Exact of 3 years we celebrated the strawberry festival because we did not celebrate in 2020, 2021 and 2022, this is the first time after the pandemic that we would celebrate the strawberry festival.
“We have to do this so that we could now open up our economy in the municipality of La Trinidad.
This is very special because for the last three years, we don’t have any activities.”
“Part of the activities of our strawberry festival is called “Community Led Activities” because we already had institutionalized the celebration of the strawberry festival through municipal ordinance since 2011 and through the particular ordinance we identify these activities which is the year in and year out and aside from that we have community-led activities which are now being spearheaded by community-led events,”
Maliban sa mga kasipagan at pagsisikap nila Mayor Romeo K. Salda at Vice-Mayor Roderick Awingan na mapalawig pa ang kanilang minimithing tagumpay sa nalalapit na Strawberry Festival ay naglatag rin ng kanya-kanyang komite ang mga masisigasig na konsehal na kung saan ay nagkaisa at nagtutulungan sila upang mapabuti at mapanatiling maayos, at higit sa lahat ay upang umunlad at umangat rin ang kanilang ekonomiya, ang kabuhayan ng bawat sambahayan, mga magsasaka at mga negosyante, makabawi man lang dahil sa tatlong taon na walang naganap na aktibidad ay ito na marahil ang inaasam rin ng mga officials na matulungan ang kanilang mga kababayan sa bayan ng La Trinidad.
Tunghayan ang mga kapana-panabik na mga nakahanay na aktibidad na magbibigay ng kasiyahan sa lahat.
