BIKE LANE IT IS

The City Engineering Office implements the first phase of the bike lane project along Loakan Road.  The first phase covers 14 kilometers and the routes are the Central Business District bike loop: Justice Hall to Kalaw St.; Connectors: Baguio General Hospital Rotunda to Panagbenga Park and Gov. Pack Road to BGH Rotunda; Outer routes: Loakan-Apugan to Leonard Wood Road; Harrison Road to M. Roxas St. via Magsaysay Ave-Bonifacio St.; and City Hall to Marcos Highways via Legarda Road.

The bike lane project is part of the city’s Micro-Baguio Initiative to transform the Baguio into a “20-minute city” as conceptualized jointly by the City Planning and Development Office, City Engineering Office and the City Environment and Parks Management Office.

Due to the narrow width of the road, it will be shared between cyclists and motorists. The signage will serve as an awareness to motorists that cyclists are riding along the road should drive with caution.  Photo by Neil Clark Ongchangco
