8 Drugs Personalities arrested; 8.7M worth Marijuana eradicated in a weeklong OPS
In the conduct of a week-long anti-illegal drugs operation in the Cordillera, eight drug personalities were arrested while a total of Php 8,700,000.00 worth of marijuana plants were eradicated from January 23 to January 29, 2022.
Citing the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE, the series of operations conducted by PROCOR cops and PDEA-CAR resulted in the arrest of eight drug personalities. Six in Benguet, one in Baguio City and one in Abra while nine (9) marijuana plantation sites were eradicated in Benguet and one in Kalinga.
In Benguet, arrested personalities were Leah Uri Ampelio, 40; Benedicto Bayodang Atngag, 35; Leo Cabacungan Arcenas, 33; Khristian Maddang Geston, 30; Arvie Raymundo Vibar, 28; and Novie Tongaan Samonte, 23.
In Baguio, drug personality Monray Garcia Nidoy, 22 was arrested while in Abra, Jack Daniel Cruz Caliboso, 22 was apprehended.
The separate buy-bust operations conducted resulted in the seizure of a total of 7.8969 grams of suspected shabu with Standard Drug Price amounting to Php 53,698.92 and the confiscation of a total of 0.02 grams of dried marijuana leaves with an SDP of Php 2,400.00.
All arrested suspects will be facing charges for violation of RA9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, the marijuana eradication conducted in Benguet led to the destruction of a total of 24,000 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) in parts of Bakun, Buguias, and Kibungan including the discovery of 4 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves amounting to Php 5,300,000.00 in total.
In Kalinga, operatives destroyed a total of 17,000 pieces of FGMJP worth Php 3,400,000.00 in Tinglayan.
All uprooted and discovered fully grown marijuana plants and dried marijuana leaves were burned on site. PROCOR-PIO)
