Kalinga Community Walks for Peace
CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – To show the community’s solidarity for peace, residents of the Municipality of Pinukpuk rallied together at Barangay Ammacian, Pinukpuk in Kalinga on December 14, 2020.
The rally was dubbed as “Walk for Peace” with the theme “Lakad Tungo sa Kapayapaan, Iwaksi Ang Terrorismo At Karahasan.”
The event aims to unite the different sectors in Pinukpuk to march in solidarity for peace and for the condemnation of the terroristic activities of the CPP-NPA-NDF.
Through the peace walk, the residents were able to express their desire to get rid of the CPP-NPA-NDF and to prevent them from doing any terroristic activities in their community.
The participants walked with posters and signboards denouncing the CPP-NPA-NDF. Afterwards, they burned the flags of CPP-NPA-NDF and images of Joma Sison and other leaders of the CTGs to express their disapproval to the tactics of said organization, especially the deceptive recruitment of the youths.
The event is the result of the program of Kalinga police, members of the AFP and Kalinga Youth Organization (KAYO) Members.
