NEW YEAR, NEW HOUSE FOR A FAMILY IN BENGUET

A happier new year for a family in Benguet, after they received a new house constructed by the police officers of Buguias Municipal Police Station (MPS).

Mang Julius, is a member of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) of Baculungan Sur in Buguias, Benguet. His voluntary works started in 1990 and up to now, he is still active in serving his barangay as a peacekeeper.

Mang Julius together with his wife and four children were living for a long time in their relative’s house. His family ventures to farming which is the main source of their income.

With his 32 years of dedication to voluntary service, Mang Julius was selected by the Buguias MPS as their beneficiary of the “Pabahay Handog ng Benguet PPO”.

From the voluntary contribution of Buguias MPS together with the donations from the community stakeholders and other generous individuals, the construction of the house was started in October 2021.

After three months, the house was turned over to Mang Julius in a simple house blessing and turn-over ceremony graced by PROCOR’s Deputy Regional Director for Administration, PBGEN LAWRENCE COOP, and Benguet PPO Director, PCOL REYNALDO DR PASIWEN.

Also, to help Mang Julius start over, as they move into their new home, Buguias MPS gave the family assorted groceries and kitchen utensils.

Aside from the new house for Mang Julius family, Buguias MPS also constructed a communal comfort room for the residents of Sitio Owasan of the said barangay.

“Pabahay Handog ng Benguet PPO” is a program started by Benguet Cops last year wherein each municipal police station of Benguet PPO and its two Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFCs) committed to construct a house for their selected beneficiaries as a way of sharing their blessings to the community.
