Over 4M worth of Marijuana plants burned in Cordillera

As part of the continuous marijuana eradication operations of Police Regional Office Cordillera, a total of Php 2,531,000.00 worth of marijuana plants in Kibungan, Benguet and a total of Php 1,760,000.00 in Tinglayan, Kalinga were eradicated by the operatives of PROCOR cops on January 13-14, 2022.

Citing the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, four (4) marijuana plantation sites were discovered in Kibungan, Benguet while another two (2) plantation sites were discovered in Tinglayan, Kalinga.

In Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan, joint operatives of Kibungan MPS and PDEA-CAR were able to discover a total of 6,655 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a standard drug price (SDP) of Php 1,331,000.00 and a total of 10 kgs of dried marijuana plants with SDP of Php 1,200, 000.00.

Meanwhile in Brgy. Bugnay, Tinglayan, joint operatives of Kalinga PPO, PDEA Kalinga, PNP SAF, and RID PROCOR were able to discover a total of 4,800 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with SDP Php 1,760,000.00.

All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site by the respective operatives while investigations are ongoing to identify possible cultivators of the said marijuana plantations sites.(PROCOR-PIO)
