All out preparation for National Vaccination Days on

Taking cue from the campaign title Bayanihan, Bakunahan, the Baguio community is on an all-out effort to have everyone jabbed, for first or second dose, on National Vaccination Days, Nov. 29, 30, and Dec. 1.

In a coordination meeting, City Health Services Office head Dr. Rowena Galpo went through all aspects of said endeavor.

Forty-nine (49) vaccination sites, including community, district and mega areas located in parks, halls, schools, gymnasiums, churches, covered courts, playgrounds, day care centers and barangay halls shall be open throughout the three-day vaccination campaign. A night time vaccination is planned, pending logistics and requirements as it shall be done in a park.

The mobile vaccination team shall also walk through communities with housebound vaccinees, such as the elderly or disabled. Scheduling and coordination may be done with the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERTs), for the service.

A drive-through vaccine session is also scheduled for motorists, and their passengers at Athletic Bowl, Burnham Park.

Vaccinees may browse through schedules at the Baguio City Health Services Office and Public Information Office facebook pages.

The engagement of city officials, political personalities, religious leaders, the medical, academic and business community, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) officials was also assured; as with the 911, volunteer barangay vehicles, transport group and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) who are on standby for any emergencies.

Medical, information and technical personnel, peace and order, and crowd control forces are available on-site from the start of the activity, up to the vaccine post monitoring time, it was assured.

According to Dr. Galpo, unregistered and registered unvaccinated in the barangays shall be searched out for an intensive information and education campaign (IEC), and vaccination. The data management team was able to clean out and list around 64,000 individuals needing the first dose and about 10,000 for the second dose.

Around 71,000 of five brands of vaccines; Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Pfizer, Gamaleya, Moderna and are available, as of Nov. 24, it was reported.

All vaccinees should register with bakuna.baguio.gov.ph, and a QR code to be presented during vaccination.

La Trinidad-Itogon-Sablan-Tuba and Tublay residents, both adults and pedia population may avail of the vaccination schedule, as long as they register online.

Adults need to present the QR code and identification documents, while those with comorbidities need a medical certificate detailing their comorbidity, issued within six months.

Those in the 12 to 17 age group need to present the QR code, identification documents, and with their parent/guardian give assent and consent, show proof of filiation (how they are related to each other).

Booster shots for health care workers and senior citizens may be administered, for those who had the second dose earlier than May 24, for two dose vaccines. J and J vaccine recipients may have their booster shots three months after. – Julie G. Fianza
