“I am compelled to seek for re-election, para tuloy-tuloy ang aming mga programa” – Magalong
BAGUIO CITY – Pinatunayan ni Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong ang kanyang prinsipyo na ipagpapatuloy niya ang kanyang nasimulan tungkulin bilang public servant sa Lungsod ng Baguio, matapos mag file ng candidacy bilang mayor noong October 5, (Tuesday) sa Baguio Convention Center, kasama ang ilan na naging kapanalig niya sa partidong Nationalist People’s Coalition na sina Marlene B. De Castro, Angelie Pamela T. Cariño, Lilia A. Fariñas at Christian A. Villareal, inaasahan na may mga guest candidate rin na consistently advocates on good governance na isasama sa kanyang line-up guest candidate from other parties ngunit wala pa rin siyang makakasamang Congressman at Vice-mayor.
Sinabi ni Magalong, “We have gone a long way in our advocacy for good governance and at the same time malaki na rin yun na accomplish natin in terms of our strategic programs and projects, alam niyo kasi ang iniisip kasi natin dito is every time a local executive assumes an office he should never think about the next election, hindi yun ang pananaw natin ngayon, we are thinking of a legacy that we can pass on this to the next generation, yun lagi ang iniisip natin, and if we fail to accomplish all of this, anong ibibigay natin sa next generation? Yun dapat ang kailangan na laging nasa isip ng ating mga local chief executive, hindi yun anong gagawin ko para mare-elect ako, it’s not about being selfish about it but it’s just that, kailangan matapos natin, because 20 years from now, what’s going to happen in the city of Baguio, and that is our goal to be able to solve what’s going to happen in the next 15 to 30 years from now, and the only way to that and to make sure na ma sustain namin yun program.

“The reason why I run during my first term was that we want to build the better Baguio and now that we are on the right track, hindi pa rin natin na accomplish, there are lot of things to do, marami pa tayong dapat gawin ang focus namin is talagang to create a better Baguio that is green, is resilient and that is committed by and with constituent that we consider smart people and smart Baguio,”
“I don’t have the line-up of Congressman and vice mayor just like the first time that I run but in terms kung sinong congressman ang susuportahan ko, definitely I’ll be supporting Congressman Mark Go, and then for vice-mayor I’ll be supporting our incumbent vice-mayor Tino Olowan dahil malaking suporta ang binibigay niya sa executive, the city council,”
