QUEZON CITY (PIA) — Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced in a press briefing on Thursday, August 19, that 29,127,240 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the country.
According to National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard Data, as of August 18, a total of 16,250,043 individuals received their first dose, while 12,877,197 individuals were fully vaccinated.
National Task Force Deputy Chief Implementer and Testing Czar Vince Hizon anticipated that the country would reach 30 million jabs on Friday, August 20.
Hizon also added that the 15 million targets for August could be reached with an average jab rate of roughly 500,000 per day.
Meanwhile, only 0.23% of fully vaccinated individuals experienced vaccine reactions. Most untoward reactions are mild, resolve spontaneously, and do not need hospitalization.
