CITY READY FOR TEMPERATURE-SENSITIVE VACCINES

May 20, 2021 – The city expressed readiness for the arrival of vaccines that require ultra-cold conditions for their storage.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said that the City Health Services Office (CHSO) subjected the freezers with minus 70 degrees Celsius storage capability to another test run last Tuesday to ensure that they are working properly.

This is in preparation for the arrival of Pfizer vaccines and other brands that need to be kept extremely cold.

The mayor said the city stands to receive a total of 35,000 doses of Pfizer that can be administered to 18,000 individuals.

City Health Officer Dr. Rowena Galpo said they continue to work out ways to ensure efficiency in the administration of the vaccines.

Magalong said they expect the influx of vaccine supplies consisting of different brands in the coming months. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
